16 to 19 Tuition Fund
The 16 to 19 Tuition Fund is ring-fenced funding for targeted strategies to mitigate the disruption to learning that has arisen for Post 16 Students as a result of COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdowns.
The funding is to support small group tuition for students aged 16 to 19 in a range of subjects, including vocational and/or academic learning.
Students have been selected if they:
- have not achieved a grade 4 or 5 in English and/or Maths
- have a grade 4 or above in English and/or Maths, but are from an economically disadvantaged background and would need catch-up support. These are defined as students from the 27% most economically deprived areas of the country based on the index of multiple deprivation
Tuition will take place in small groups of up to 5 students, as well as 1:1 tuition supported by tutors with the requisite knowledge, skills and experience. Tuition will be delivered in our vocational courses, as well as a range of A Levels. Tutors will be provided by our existing teaching staff, academic tutors trained by the School and third-party provider, MyTutor.
